About Alchemy

Alchemy Bread started off with one absolutely crazy man who, at some point, decided that life is boring enough and 9 to 5 Monday to Friday is no way to live.

Myroslav was never a baker before. Never. He picked up baking as a hobby back in March 2020 when all the Covid lockdowns started to get serious. Loaf by loaf, his bread was getting better and the house was filling up with flour bags (read “dust”) of all kinds. One overworked (= broken) Kitchen Aid later and a handful of friends / family orders there it was: “Honey, why don’t we buy a bakery?”

And this is how a Wine Country Bakery was acquired - a yellow bread van selling German style bread at the Kelowna Farmer’s Market. Ever since then we have been working hard on rebranding and making the yellow van our own, on making it Alchemy.

We believe simple ingredients and time make the best bread

All our products are made from scratch using natural ingredients. We specialize in long-fermented sourdough breads which provide great flavour and increased digestibility, minimizing (and aoften removing) unpleasant symptoms like bloating, cramps or “feeling full”.

All our breads are made with high-quality unbleached, untreated local flours with an addition of organic whole-wheat and rye flours for more flavourful and nutrient — dense bread. Simple & Delicious.
